Roy Nelson vs. Stefan Struve Slated for Fight Night 21

“The Ultimate Fighter: Heavyweights” winner Roy Nelson will face Stefan Struve at UFC Fight Night 21 in March.

That’s according to a report from Fighters Only, who revealed the news on Thursday evening.

“Big Country” earned his contract with the UFC in a knockout victory over Brendan Schaub at the Ultimate Fighter Finale show in early December. His most high profile victory was an unofficial one — Nelson defeated Kimbo Slice in the most-watched bout in Ultimate Fighter history. Nelson is a former IFL heavyweight champion and holds a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu.

The incredibly tall and lanky Struve debuted in the UFC with a loss to Junior dos Santos at UFC 95 last year, but has since scored three consecutive wins. His last appearance came in a highly entertaining victory over the debuting Paul Buentello in December, where the Dutchman scored a decision victory in a close bout.

UFC Fight Night 21 will take place March 31 in North Carolina. No bouts have been officially confirmed, but a middleweight bout between Nate Quarry and Jorge Rivera is expected to take place on the card.
