Brendan Schaub and Chase Gormley have verbally agreed to meet at UFC Fight Night 21 on March 21 in Colorado. Bout agreements have not been signed but are expected to be distributed this week.
Heavy.com has also confirmed that the bout is expected to be featured on the main card, which will be televised on Versus. The show is headlined by a light heavyweight bout between Jon Jones and Brandon Vera.
Both fighters have losses in their only Octagon appearances. Schaub will look to rebound from his performance in the “Ultimate Fighter: Heavyweights” finale, where he suffered a knockout loss to show winner Roy “Big Country” Nelson.
Gormley lost to Stefan Struve at UFC 104 in Los Angeles in October. Prior to the loss, he’d reeled off six straight wins for independent groups in the USA and Canada.
