Jackson Move Pays Off for Victorious Guillard

Melvin Guillard’s decision to train with mixed martial arts mentor Greg Jackson was a wise one, as the yellow-haired Guillard used a much-improved sprawl to keep submission specialist Ronys Torres on his feet for much of the bout on the way to a unanimous decision victory.

Guillard has long been susceptible to anyone with a good jiu-jitsu game, but he was able to stay out of dangerous situations against Torres and largely won the stand-up battle by using good head movement and counterstriking.
