Saturday’s UFC 122 event drew 8,421 spectactors for an estimated live gate of approximately $600,000.
Heavy.com learned of the attendance and gate figures after the event concluded from UFC officials.
It was a much smaller event than the UFC’s previous trip to Germany in June 2009. UFC 99 took place in Cologne and drew 12,854 attendees for a disclosed live gate of $1.3 million.
The German government currently bans mixed martial arts from television, and minors were banned from attending the show. Zuffa is currently embroiled in a lawsuit with the government to get the television ban lifted.
