Johnson blasts Brenneman with head kick TKO
Tonight was a rough one for Charlie Brenneman. The fast-rising welterweight ran head-on into Anthony Johnson, who dominated the fight from the very start.
Brenneman ate several shots at the start of the round, causing him to look for the takedown. Johnson stuffed it and landed both knees and strikes from the top position. Brenneman rolled over and struggled to get back to his feet, but that did not save him.
When he was finally back up, Johnson landed a vicious head kick that floored his opponent, forcing the referee to stop the fight. Brenneman was not knocked out, but the brutal striking of Johnson was far too much for him to handle.
Very impressive victory for Johnson, who finds himself on a two-fight win streak since his disappointing submission loss to Josh Koscheck at UFC 106.
