Dana White had to answer some questions following UFC 324’s main event between Justin Gaethje and Paddy Pimblett, which saw Gaethje win in an exciting five-round bout, and Gaethje now holds the interim lightweight title belt.
However, some UFC fans are a bit upset due to the production of Paramount+, and with UFC cards no longer being PPV (pay-per-view), CBS and Paramount+ decided to run ads on their live coverage of UFC 324, which included some missed time showcasing the fighters about to fight and their walk-outs/octagon intros. As entertaining as the card was, and it was exciting from start to finish, fans were drowned in Ads all night. Dana White opened up about that frustration in his post-fight press conference.
Dana White’s Message After UFC 324 On Fan Frustration
Some of the other highlights on the UFC 324 card included Waldo Cortes-Acosta knocking out Derrick Lewis, Jean Silva defeating Arnold Allen, and Sean O’Malley knocking off Song Yadong.
However, some of those fighter performances may be overshadowed by fan frustration, which may or may not be deserved, but Dana White had his own message for fans who became upset throughout the night:
“I haven’t seen it yet”, said Dana White. “And yes, it’s all a work in progress. It’s 8.99, you’re not paying (expletive) you know however much anymore, these guys got to make money too.”
Everyone understands that CBS needs to run ads to increase revenue, but can UFC and White strike a deal with the massive broadcast company to maybe scale back those ads a bit? That is the million-dollar question.

White then answered a question about working with CBS/Paramount+
“These guys are incredible to work with already, so we’ll figure it out.
UFC 324 Lived Up to the Hype
If I were to make my best educated guess, Dana White and all the higher-ups with UFC are going to work out some deal to cut some of the ads.
That doesn’t mean they will be gone altogether, but the best solution would be to just run ads in between fights, and not to have them pop up in the middle of a fight, which is where the main frustration stemmed from.
Another part of the frustration could be due to it being the first card of the year, and that drawing a larger viewership. Not to say that UFC views will be down throughout the year, because that likely won’t be the case, but it’s the fact that so many fans were watching the entirety of the card starting at 7:00 p.m.
However, UFC 324 totally lived up to the hype, and Dana White and the rest of the UFC crew are sprung right back into work as UFC 325 is just next Saturday, a rare back-to-back Saturday’s with numbered cards on the calendar.
