There’s no denying that Caitlin Clark of the Indiana Fever is a team player based on her first two seasons in the WNBA.
Clark led the league in assists as a rookie, averaging 8.4 assists per game. She also broke the single-season record with 337 and recorded the single-game record with 19 on July 17, 2024, against the Dallas Wings.
However, Clark was limited to just 13 games last year due to multiple injuries. She still averaged 8.8 assists per game, which would have been second to Alyssa Thomas‘ 9.2 apg.
Lexie Hull on Most Challenging Part of Being Clark’s Teammate

On the court, Lexie Hull has flourished alongside Clark for the Fever. Hull has developed into a huge asset as a shooter and a perimeter defender. But what is the most challenging part of being a teammate of the biggest WNBA star in the world?
Speaking to Jackson Thompson of Fox News Digital, Hull revealed that the difficulty comes from off the court.
“I think the most challenging part is there’s just so much scrutiny,” Hull said. “People have opinions online, and unfortunately, that’s part of the job and the role that we play. I think people should focus on us, as people need to know that everyone’s human. We’re real people.
She added, “I think when things get blown out of proportion, and when things get personal, and there’s personal attacks on people’s character, I think that’s when it’s over the line.”
Clark’s fanbase online is possibly the biggest in the WNBA, so it’s not surprising that some are more passionate than others.
In 47 games playing with Clark, Hull is averaging 6.2 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.2 assists.
Hull Re-Signs with Fever

After the best season of her career, Hull entered restricted free agency after a long CBA negotiation between the league and the players’ union. She was eligible to sign a contract with any team, but the Fever had the power to match.
On Saturday, the Fever announced that they had re-signed Hull to a multi-year deal.
“Ensuring Lexie’s return was a high priority for us,” Fever COO and general manager Amber Cox said in a statement. “She represents the heart of our team, and that was never more evident than in our playoff run last season. She impacts every aspect of the game on both ends of the floor and is a vital member of our core group. We are thrilled to have her back in a Fever uniform.”
Hull also released a statement, saying that she wasn’t looking to play anywhere else. She is excited about the future of the franchise, calling herself a West Coast girl-turned-Midwesterner.
Before the official statement from the Fever, Hull already announced her return on TikTok, with some help from Clark.
