The Auburn product has missed each of Tampa Bay's last two games due to an ankle injury, and despite limited practice sessions Thursday and Friday, it appears likely he'll miss his third game in a row Sunday. If Britt is sidelined in Week 16 as expected, Vi Jones is likely to start alongside Lavonte David as part of the Buccaneers' top inside linebacker duo.

Edwards appears to be trending in the right direction ahead of Sunday's contest, as he upgraded from limited practice sessions Wednesday and Thursday to a full go Friday. However, if the veteran safety is unable to suit up in Week 16, expect Christian Izien to step in and start alongside Kaevon Merriweather.

The undrafted second-year pro from Rutgers upgraded to full practice Friday after beginning the week with back-to-back limited sessions, so it appears he's recovered from his groin injury in time to suit up in Week 16. Izien has played all over the field for the Bucs' defense, and he's expected to serve as the team's top reserve safety and cornerback Sunday.
Smith (knee) has no injury designation ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Cowboys, Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports. After opening the Bucs' week of practice with consecutive limited sessions, Smith logged a full workload Friday, suggesting he's moved past his knee injury in time to play Sunday. With the rookie safety from Georgia back at full health, he's expected to serve as Tampa Bay's top slot cornerback in Week 16.
Johnson (ankle) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Cowboys, Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports. Despite a full week of practice, Johnson will remain on injured reserve and be held out of the Buccaneers' Week 16 contest. His practice window was opened Dec. 12, giving Tampa Bay until Jan. 2 to activate him to its active roster. Expect Johnson to serve as a depth piece in the Bucs' wide receiver room when he returns from injury.
Durham could have an expanded role Sunday in Dallas with Cade Otton (knee) listed as doubtful for the contest, Greg Auman of Fox Sports reports. More snaps for Durham may not result in an expanded role in the passing game, as he's earned just two targets in 13 games this season. Position mates Ko Kieft and Devin Culp, a rookie seventh-round pick, haven't been targeted at all, though, so Durham at least should be an option for QB Baker Mayfield considering the workload he likely will be taking on. In 26 appearances as a pro to date, Durham has a 7-92-0 line on nine targets, which is good for a 77.8 percent catch rate and 10.2 YPT.
Shepard (foot) doesn't have a designation for Sunday's game at Dallas, Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports. Ahead of a Week 15 matchup with the Chargers, Shepard managed just one limited practice (Friday) due to a foot injury but still suited up this past Sunday, earning a 50 percent snap share and catching his only target for 16 yards. This time around, he sat out Wednesday but followed it up with back-to-back capped sessions due to the same health concern. With his status cleared for Week 16, Shepard will remain the No. 3 WR behind top options Mike Evans and Jalen McMillan.
