WATCH: Video Shows Off-Duty LAPD Cop Fire Gun During Struggle With Teen

Cell phone video showing an off-duty Los Angeles Police Department officer firing his gun during a struggle with a 13-year-old boy has been posted on Youtube. No one was shot during the incident, which resulted in the arrest of the 13-year-old and another teen, but not the unnamed officer.

You can watch the video above. A single shot is fired about the 2:30 mark of the video.

The teen has been identified by his family as Christian Dorscht, the Orange County Weekly reports.

Another video of the incident was posted to Facebook:

You can read more about the teen involved in the shooting, Christian Dorscht, at the link below:

Police told KTLA-TV the incident occurred near the officer’s home in Anaheim on Tuesday about 2:40 p.m. His home is located near Loara High School, Anaheim Police said, and several teens can be seen in the video with backpacks, apparently after leaving the school.

“The confrontation began over ongoing issues with juveniles walking across the officer’s property,” Anaheim Police said in a statement. The investigation into the incident is ongoing and police said the officer admitted to firing the gun. He was not charged, but the 13-year-old boy seen being grabbed by the officer and another 15-year-old boy were arrested.

The 13-year-old is facing charges of criminal threats and battery, the Orange County Register reports. The 15-year-old was charged with assault and battery, according to the newspaper.

The officer is accusing Christian of threatening to shoot him, but Christian’s father, Johnny Dorscht, told the OC Weekly that his son actually said he was going to sue the officer, not shoot him.

“What I’ve been told is that my son told the off-duty cop, ‘I’m going to sue you for hitting me. I’m a minor,'” Dorscht siad.

“We are aware of numerous videos being posted on YouTube and other internet sites. We cannot authenticate the validity of these videos as they were not recorded or posted by APD. However, they do appear to depict portions of the incident in question,” Anaheim Police said in a statement.

The Los Angeles Police Department said it is also conducting a “concurrent/administrative investigation.”

According to the Los Angeles Times, the case will be investigated by the Anaheim Police homicide division and the results will be forwarded to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office.

Christian’s was released from juvenile detention on Wednesday. His mother, Alma Jimenez, took photos of Christian after he was released and gave those to the Weekly. The photos showred marks on her son’s neck and forehead. You can see the photos at the link below:

Christian’s father told KTLA the officer was angry about a girl who cut across his lawn, and the boy came to her defense, starting the confrontation. He said the officer called the girl a “cunt” for walking on his lawn.

The boy says in the video, “He tried to hit me in my nuts. That’s like a little pussy move, punch a kid in the nuts.”

In the video, the officer tells the boy that he is holding him because he has been resisting him.

“No, I wasn’t. You tackled me first. I didn’t do anything to hurt you,” the teen tells the officer. “All I said was, ‘Respect the girl,’ because you said, ‘Get out of my property.’”

Dorscht told the OC Weekly his son hasn’t been in trouble before, and that his stepfather is a police officer.

“I’m pretty pissed off about what happened,” Dorscht says. “You could talk to anybody, my son has very good manners. He does good in school and isn’t disrespectful or anything like that. “We’re going to find legal representation and be suing. This is B.S. Even the cops, when they got there, they had all the kids down. They didn’t even go after the guy.”

Protests broke out in the Anaheim neighborhood where the officer lives Wednesday night. Officers in riot gear were at the scene. The words “fuck pigs” were spray-painted on the garage of one of the homes.

About 200 to 300 protesters, including Christian’s mother, were there, according to reporters.

This is ridiculous! If I fired a gun because someone was on my lawn, I would be arrested! If I grabbed a minor and dragged him around I would be arrested! I respect officers. But clearly this man is getting away with this.

I agree. Someone in your yard does not constitute physical altercations let alone firing off a firearm. This public servant, is what he is “to serve and protect” should be arrested. The police are never accountable when they should be. Im not against the police, but this is an out of control officer that can not contain control of his emotions. Very unprofessional.

When the black animal kid threw the punch, i would have shot him in his chest.

Did you watch the video? The off duty officer was attacked at least twice before he reached for his weapon. The crowd was surrounding him as he was attacked. How in the world can you possibly think he fired a gun because someone was on his lawn?

Anonymous

You dumb millenial. The kid was under arrest you dumb bitch. Listen to your headphones and tweet something you dumb little boy.

Anonymous

Your’re a stupid millenial child. Go do your homework little boy.

IS that what you call someone defending themselves?? No this attacker was attacked by defenders.. You have it backwards. Im going to get into a fight, and shoot my gun… Ima tell the court it was ok though because the person I just punched tried to punch me afterwards.

Patrick Schaefer

Let’s hope you don’t get in a fight, because you’ll land yourself in prison. It’s gun owners like yourself that give responsible gun owners a bad stigma. If have a lot to learn about self defense and when it’s appropriate to use deadly force. Awesome how you have to be anonymous, but your entitled to an opinion.

Oh yes, these retards can’t, won’t, don’t understand that part, that he was responding to a group assault on himself, who just happened to be an off duty police officer. The gun only came out after they started attaching him, and he had every right to defend himself from their mob attack, but these idiots try to make it out to be something else. They have a serious shortage of mental capacity trying to figure that out.
You can see it in the attitude of these youngsters who have no respect. That is probably the cause of the incident in the first place, no respect for the policemans property, when he objected to them continuously walking through his property.

smith

Remember his attorney stated he was knocked unconscious but he STILL reached into his pants and shot a warning shot. Doesn’t seem unconscious or worried about a mob. He should have identified himself and done this peacefully. No mob attack, that’s exagerated. From the beginning of the video he put himself in the middle of it ALL. No excuses Suart.

Well said and I agree. Only criminal minded adults would side with these thug teens.

Oh yes please, save that poor cop of those teens, God save that white racist cop from being in danger.

I watched the video to see an off duty police officer pulling an unarmed 13 year old kid across the property. Other minors trying to protect the kid from what clearly looked like assault by a grown man. A man that had his hands on a kid, not letting him loose and firing a side arm. My question to you is… Did you watch the video?

Your eyes are broken buddy. 1. They’re on his property, he has every right to tell them to get lost. 2. Most likely the teens started the confrontation because we all know from experience that most teenagers are cocky assholes. 3. He was shoved over, then hit in the head by another teen, and then they started to surround him. He obviously wasn’t able to scare them off with just himself nor can he physically attack a minor. So he fired a warning shot to scare them off before they had a chance to jump him like we all knew was going to happen if he didn’t. How about instead of blaming the cop that was defending himself from these little pricks and have the parents start controlling their accidents.

NOW you know the innocent yuf was unarmed. But not when the brown savages were throwing punches and surrounding him. Go back to mexico you farm equiptment.

Anonymous

he was dragging the boy to his house, the crowd came in defense of the boy, because he want to let of the boy.

Anonymous

You cant come to the “defence” of someone under arrest, you dumb, brown bastard.

Anonymous

Lol are you seriously suggesting that the pig was trying to get away but couldn’t escape the 13 year-old’s grasp

mrtravel

He was “attacked” because he was dragging a kid around… What was the purpose other than “teach the punk a lesson”?
If he felt the kid was going to “shoot” him instead of “sue” him. He would have ARRESTED him on the spot. not try to drag him around the neighborhood.
This looks like an adult bully. If someone trespasses, file a police report, like everyone else.

LittleQwerty

These teens have been repeatedly harassing him. Enough is enough! Teach children respect!

Anonymous

The purpose of grabbing the kid is that he was under arrest. See how easy whites understand?

Anonymous

He was dragging the kid to his house BECAUSE THE KID WAS UNDER ARREST YOU BROWN DUMMY

Anonymous

Ass hole the pig ass off duty cop had no right to put his hands on the kid in the first damn place you think just bcuz you have a fckin badge you can go around grabbing people that bitch should get fired ASAP.

Anonymous

The kid was under arrest you dumb brown bastard. Only blacks think that “people cant put their hands on kids”. The kid WAS UNDER ARREST.

Anonymous

Only minorities think that the kids were “saving” this boy from the evil policeman. Minorities that if they yell “i dint do nuffin” their trial begins right there on the side of the road. The kid was under arrest, the rest of those wonderful minorities learned that reaction to police at home. I would have shot the black kid who threw the punch right in his chest.

BS. If you defend yourself against a mob, you are within your rights to do so. Once those pieces of crap touch you, you can defend yourself. If the numbers are 2-10+ on one, you are within your RIGHTS to protect yourself and/or your family, friends, or any victim of a mob attack.
You can also just stand there and let them beat the shit out of you also. Had one of those thugs had a knife, bat, board or anything else considered to be a weapon, he could ( and likely should) shoot the bastard. Again, if you want your head bashed in, that’s your right, just lie there and let them have their way with you. I’m going to defend myself and others. Even you, if it cane down to it.

The gun was fired because of the PUNCHES THROWN. Your blackness clouds your thinking.
