The Giants waived Koo on Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports. After being cut by the Falcons following Week 1, Koo has now been booted off a team's roster for the second time this season following another errant kicking performance. In this past Sunday's 29-21 loss to the Commanders, Koo knocked down all three of point-after tries but failed to connect on field goals from 52 and 51 yards, with both attempts missing by fair margins. Altogether, Koo missed three kicks (two field goals, one extra point) on 18 attempts during his five-game run as New York's kicker. The Giants are expected to elevate or sign Ben Sauls off the practice squad to take over as their new kicker beginning with this Sunday's game versus the Vikings.

Younghoe Koo: Breaking News
Misses both FGA vs. Washington
Koo missed both of his field-goal attempts and went 3-for-3 on extra-point tries during the Giants' 29-21 loss to the Commanders on Sunday. Both of Koo's field-goal attempts Sunday came from 50-plus yards and both missed to the left. It was Koo's first field-goal misses in five games with the Giants, and he's now 4-for-6 on field-goal attempts and 11-for-12 on extra-point tries with New York.
Flubs potential FG attempt in loss
Koo made his only extra-point try and didn't technically attempt a field goal in Monday's Week 13 loss to the Patriots. Koo was called upon to attempt a 46-yard field goal in the second quarter, but he stubbed his foot into the ground before making the contact with the ball, leaving holder Jamie Gillian out to dry on a play that went into the box score as a 13-yard loss rather than a FG try. That botched play was emblematic of the Giants performance as a whole in a game during which they were never competitive, and perhaps of the team's season as a whole, as New York has dealt with inexplicable mistakes and collapses multiple times en route to a 2-11 record. As for Koo, he's ironically still perfect on FG attempts since joining the Giants -- at least in official recordkeeping -- as he's gone 4-for-4 in that category along with 8-for-9 on PATs.
