The good news for Dion Lewis, who missed Week 7 with an abdomen injury and is questionable for Week 8 against the Miami Dolphins: He was a limited participant in practice this week.
The bad news: Bill Belichick’s 94-year-old mother, apparently, also could have been a limited participant:
“My mom probably could have gotten thru practice…” Belichick when asked about Dion Lewis, noting they didn’t really practice all week
With practice offering no real clarity, and with Belichick and the Patriots never ones to divulge any more information than they have to, it’s anyone’s guess at this point as to whether or not Lewis will suit up for Thursday night. He’s a true game-time decision:
Bill Belichick implies RB Dion Lewis (abdomen) will be a game-time decision tomorrow.
However, sources cited by NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport are saying that he will indeed play:
Nothing is official, though, and we won’t know for sure if he’s playing until inactives are made available right around 7 p.m. ET (about 90 minutes before kick off).
