The number one running back in fantasy is down. Falcons RB Devonta Freeman headed straight to the locker room after landing awkwardly on a rush in the first quarter against the Colts.

He has been evaluated, and has been ruled out for the day.

Freeman has been slow for the previous two weeks, but exploded for fantasy owners midseason. He had three weeks rushing for over 100 yards, and has nine touchdowns this season. Tevin Coleman is Freeman’s backup, and will see increase carries in his absence. Teron Ward is also listed on the depth chart.

Where the Falcons will really miss Freeman is his versatility. In addition to his rushing prowess, Freeman has also caught 48 passes this season, two of which were touchdowns.

After a hot start, the Falcons have lost three of their last four games. They currently sit at 6-3, behind the Panthers in the NFC South but firmly entrenched in the Wild Card hunt.
