Another year, another No. 1 French Open seed for Serena Williams.
When the 2016 French Open gets underway from Roland Garros on Sunday, May 22, the 6-time — and defending — champion will be the top seed for the sixth time, including fourth straight year.
The women’s final is scheduled for Saturday, June 4.
Agnieszka Radwanska, Angelique Kerber, Garbine Muguruza, and Victoria Azarenka round out the top 5 seeds. Serena’s older sister, Venus Williams, is seeded 10th.
Williams opens vs. Magdalena Rybarikova. Kerber, who beat Serena earlier this year in the Australian Open final, is in Williams’ top half of the draw. Radwanska and Muguruza are in the bottom half.
