That is the question for Jose Mourinho, as his first-place United squad take on Southampton in Friday action.
Pogba had only a brief preseason after returning from the French national team, but Mourinho has yet to rule out the midfielder’s status. United impressed in their debut with a 3-1 victory, and that was without big signings Pogba and Henrikh Mkhitaryan in the lineup. Rooney and Zlatan both scored in the opener, a positive sign for their offense in their first season under Mourinho.
Southampton didn’t dazzle in their opener, but failed to take all the points against Watford after the Hornets went down to 10 men. The Saints have had good fortune at Old Trafford recently, winning 1-0 in their last two trips after 27 years without a win at United. It’s the opener at Old Trafford last season, where United allowed a league-best nine goals all season.
