Tonight on Monday Night Raw, the WWE will crown a Universal Champion. One week after Finn Balor won the new title but had to relinquish it due to injury, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, Kevin Owens and Big Cass will duke it out in a Fatal 4-way match. The show will be broadcast live from Houston, Texas tonight at 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time on the USA Network. Read on for live match results and spoilers, followed by a full preview of the night’s events written earlier this afternoon.

8:00 – Corey Graves opens the show with Roman Reigns, Big Cass, Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins in the ring. Rollins says that the reason they’re all here is because of him, as he’s the reason Balor had to get surgery. He gives his speaking time to someone who needs it more than him: Kevin Owens.

Owens sarcastically pretends to be nice to everyone before getting serious, saying that he’s at his best when the stakes are high like tonight. While Rollins talks big, he delivers big. He also says he’s smarter than Roman Reigns, and all Big Cass has going for him is that he’s tall.

Big Cass accuses Kevin Owens of having his entire speech written by Chris Jericho. He goes on to say that nobody expects him to win, but he’s not an underdog; he’s the biggest dog in this fight.

Before saying anything, Roman Reigns punches Kevin Owens. Seth Rollins goes after Big Cass but is thrown out of the ring by Roman Reigns; Reigns and Big Cass stare each other down before Rollins gets back in the action, and the brawl continues. Roman Reigns ends up as the last one in the ring.

8:15  Chris Jericho defeats Neville.

8:30 – Backstage, Bayley runs into The New Day and begins having fun with them before she’s interrupted by Dana Brooke. She says that Bayley doesn’t belong here, and she plans to utilize the help of Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson.

8:36 Nia Jax defeats a local jobber.

8:40 – Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows appear in a video, and they are apparently running a retirement home. They say that like The Dudley Boyz, it’s time for The New Day to retire. Dana Brooke also joins them as a nurse.

8:46 Sami Zayn defeats Jinder Mahal.

8:55 – The New Day and Bayley defeat Karl Anderson, Luke Gallows and Dana Brooke.

9:15 – Backstage, Cesaro talks about his match against Sheamus this evening, which continues their best of seven series. He says any opportunity to beat up Sheamus makes for a good day.

9:21 Sheamus defeats Cesaro.

9:35 – Tribute is paid to Mr. Fuji in a video package.

9:47 – Braun Strowman defeats a local jobber.

9:54 – Stephanie McMahon enters. She says Brock Lesnar crossed the line at SummerSlam by attacking Shane McMahon. She’s interrupted by Paul Heyman, and Stephanie demands an apology from him. Heyman says that Lesnar winning was a victory for Raw.

He understands that Lesnar crossed a line, though, and so he will be paying the fine of $500. Heyman pulls out a stack of $1 bills, slowing counting to 500 before Stephanie bats the money out of his hands. She flips out, asking what he contributes to Raw and saying that there’s a storm coming his way. Heyman says that Brock Lesnar is the storm.

Heyman also says that the entire WWE universe is now questioning Stephanie’s integrity, and so he offers a very insincere apology. Stephanie accepts his apology and leaves the ring.

10:12 Darren Young defeats Titus O’Neil.

10:20 – Backstage, Seth Rollins promises Stephanie McMahon that the faith she put in him will pay off tonight.

10:26 – Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Big Cass and Kevin Owens fight in a Fatal 4-way match. Big Cass is eliminated first. Out of nowhere, Triple H intervenes, attacking Roman Reigns and causing Reigns to be eliminated. He then attacks Seth Rollins, setting Kevin Owens up to win. Kevin Owens wins and becomes the WWE Universal Champion.

The main event of the night, of course, is that Fatal 4-way match to determine the WWE Universal Champion. This takes place one week after Finn Balor sadly had to give up his title 24 hours after winning it at SummerSlam. While nobody knows who will win tonight, the speculation is that it will be Kevin Owens. This is based on the fact that Owens was reportedly going to be feuding with Finn Balor throughout September and October, and now that Balor is gone, Owens makes sense as a backup pick.

That’s not all we have to look forward to on Raw tonight, though. We’ll also get to see more of Bayley, who was officially added to the roster on last week’s episode. With Sasha Banks out of commission for at least a few more weeks, will Bayley go after Charlotte and attempt to claim the Women’s Championship title? Charlotte avoided fighting Bayley last week, instead letting Dana Brooke handle things, but she can’t dodge her forever.

Plus, we’ll probably hear from Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson, particularly after they brutally assaulted The Dudley Boyz during their actual farewell to the WWE universe. They were defeated by The New Day last week, and so it remains to be seen if their lashing out will continue. It all goes down tonight at 8 on the USA Network.
