If the Green Bay Packers are going to advance to Super Bowl LI, there’s a good chance they’ll have to do it without No. 1 wide receiver Jordy Nelson.

Nelson fractured multiple ribs against the Giants during Green Bay’s Wild-Card win and the injury kept him out of the Packers’ upset victory over the Dallas Cowboys in the Divisional Round.

Up next is a date with the Atlanta Falcons in the NFC Championship Game this weekend.

It is being reported that Nelson has a shot to play in Sunday’s contest at the Georgia Dome, but it’s a small one.

Packers coach Mike McCarthy said Nelson worked out Monday and was limited in practice on Wednesday while working with the “rehab group.”

On Thursday, Nelson did some on-field drills, but wasn’t in pads.

Sunday’s game is scheduled for 3 p.m. Eastern and it will be televised by FOX.

Nelson led the Packers with 97 catches for 1,257 yards and 14 touchdowns.

With Nelson out against Dallas, tight end Jared Cook stepped up with 6 receptions for 104 yards and a touchdown and receiver Geronimo Allison added 3 catches for 46 yards. Cook’s 36-yard grab with three seconds left put the Packers in field goal range and Mason Crosby nailed a 51-yarder for the 34-31 victory over the top-seeded Cowboys.
