Wisconsin takes on Western Michigan in the Cotton Bowl. According to OddsShark, the Badgers are favored by 8.5 points. The over-under is set at 52 points.

Both teams have done well in Vegas this season. Wisconsin is 9-3-1 against the spread while Western Michigan went 9-4.

The OddsShark computer likes Western Michigan to pull off the upset. The computer projects a 36-30.8 Western Michigan victory. The computer is taking the points and Western Michigan against the spread. The computer likes the over on the point total.

Aside from Alabama, Western Michigan is the only undefeated team in college football at 13-0. The Broncos play in the MAC but have squared off with Big Ten teams this season. Western Michigan had wins over Northwestern and Illinois early in the season.

We’ve seen Group of Five teams have success in New Year’s Six bowl games. Houston upset Florida State in last year’s Peach Bowl. UCF defeated Baylor in the 2014 Fiesta Bowl. Both teams entered the games as heavy underdogs.

Western Michigan is as excited about their bowl destination as any team in the country. There is a chance Wisconsin could be a bit disappointed to be playing the Broncos rather than a Power Five team. Heavy likes Western Michigan to leave AT&T Stadium with an upset victory.
