Markelle Fultz Injury Status: Will Fultz Play Against UCLA & Lonzo Ball?

According to The Seattle Times, Fultz has not been medically cleared to play. Washington coach Lorenzo Romar explained his status to The Seattle Times.

“He’s feeling a little bit better, but not to the point where the doctors have cleared him. So we got to wait. We’ll see,” Romar told The Seattle Times.

Fultz has been battling a knee injury that has forced him in and out of the lineup. Fultz missed two games at the beginning of February then returned February 16 against Arizona State. He also played the following game against Arizona. He was held out of Sunday’s contest against Washington State.

There is a chance the two could square off in next week’s Pac-12 tournament. As it stands now, UCLA is the three seed while Washington sits at 11. In this scenario, if Washington was able to upset the sixth seed (currently USC) they would face UCLA in the next round.

Washington and UCLA last played on February 4. The Huskies lost the game by over 40 points. Fultz finished with 25 points, six rebounds, five assists and three steals. It could be the final time the top two NBA prospects face off before the NBA Draft.
