The first half of Sunday’s La Liga match-up between Real Madrid and Barcelona saw plenty of action.

In another rendition of El Clasico, the two teams haven’t disappointed. A physical start to the game saw Real Madrid breaking through in the game’s 28th minute. It got on the scoreboard first in the game with a rebound-goal off of the post. But it didn’t take long for Barcelona’s high-powered offense — with Neymar absent — to counter. Just five minutes, in fact.

Lionel Messi, who was the victim of an elbow to the face in the 21st minute of play, returned the favor by making a break into the box, receiving a touch pass and scoring to tie the game at 1-1 in the 33rd minute.

First-half statistics showed quite an even match, and the second half figures to be another thriller.
