This week on Talking Smack, Renee Young was confronted with the rumor that she and Dean Ambrose were secretly married, dodging the question but later confirming that the rumor is accurate.
In recent days, both Renee Young and Dean Ambrose had been spotted wearing rings on WWE television. Fans first noticed this on Monday Night Raw on April 10th, with something that looked a lot like a wedding ring being seen on Dean Ambrose’s finger during the show.

The speculation escalated on Tuesday when Renee Young was seen wearing a ring leading up to SmackDown Live and then on Talking Smack. It’s pretty clearly visible in the WWE video below:

Then, on Talking Smack, the SmackDown Live aftershow, Renee Young was directly asked about this twice. As Dolph Ziggler entered not long into the broadcast, he was holding a half-eaten apple in his hand, something Renee Young found weird.
“What do you have, an apple in your hand?” Young asked.
Ziggler quickly shot back with, “Yeah, what’s in your hand? What’s on your fingers?” This was clearly a reference to the fact that Renee Young was wearing a new ring on her finger, though she had been keeping it off camera during the show.
Renee Young sheepishly dodged the question, simply saying “Nothing” and moving on.
Later, Kevin Owens was a guest on the show, and he immediately congratulated Young and came very close to getting into more specifics. It was unclear whether Owens legitimately wasn’t sure whether they were allowed to talk about the marriage news or whether he was simply messing around with Young.
“By the way, congratulations,” Owens said. “You know why I’m saying congratulations? Right? Am I…is this a thing?”
Shane McMahon interrupted Kevin Owens to say that they aren’t talking about this, but Owens kept nearly spilling the beans. Young looked genuinely upset during all of this, and she did her best to move on without addressing what Owens said.
“Congratulations on you coming here to SmackDown, that’s what we need to be talking about,” Young said, and the marriage was not brought up again.
On Wednesday morning, Renee Young took to Twitter to confirm the marriage, thanking viewers for their kind words. She did not actually specify when she and Dean Ambrose had their wedding, just saying that they are now married.
It was also addressed on Talking Smack that Renee Young and Dean Ambrose were split apart in the superstar shake up despite the fact that they are a real life couple. Young said on the show that she is “not super pumped about it.”
“Should I blame either of you guys?” Young asked Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon. “Who should I take that up with?”
Bryan jokingly told Young that she should completely blame this on Shane McMahon.
It’s not difficult to understand why Renee Young and Dean Ambrose might want to get married out of the public eye. Young has said that she gets constant hate on social media from people making death threats and saying she’s not good enough for Ambrose, and Ambrose says he has many stalkers.
“I get many a death threat…I mean, there’s a lot of anti–Renee Young pages out there,” Young said in a recent interview with Vegas Seven.
