At WrestleMania 33 on Sunday, Roman Reigns took out The Undertaker in the main event. So what will be happening next for Roman Reigns on Raw?

Well, the rumor heading into WrestleMania was that Roman Reigns would go on to face Brock Lesnar, with the hook being that Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns are the only two people who have beaten The Undertaker at WrestleMania.

However, this seems to be more of a long-term thing rather than something we should expect immediately; the rumor was that Roman Reigns will face Brock Lesnar in the main event of WrestleMania 34 in 2018.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter recently reported that Roman Reigns will likely face Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 34; he also reported that Roman will defeat Brock Lesnar and that the entire idea of Lesnar for years has been to build him up as an unstoppable monster, only for him to lose to Roman Reigns.

“The plan is to once again build for a year and have the big coronation at WrestleMania,” according to the Wrestling Observer via Reddit. “The idea between now and then is for Reigns to be the face, not just when he wins the title, but to fully replace John Cena as the lead babyface of the company.”

Now that Brock Lesnar is the Universal Champion, it would not be surprising to see Roman Reigns target him on Monday Night Raw on Monday, although seeing as this is apparently a pretty long-term plan of the WWE’s, we probably shouldn’t expect a match between Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar within the next few months.

The next WWE pay-per-view will be Payback, which takes place on Sunday, April 30th.
