WATCH: David West, Tristan Thompson Appear to Kiss During Game 5

Things sure got chippy during Game 5 of the NBA Finals on Monday.

Tristan Thompson, David West and JR Smith all got into a shoving match with just over three minutes left in the first half, and LeBron James, Andre Iguodala and Draymond Green had ran in to try and split up the tension.

Smith and Thompson were sticking up for teammate Kyrie Irving, who hustled down a missed shot that West rebounded. The two wrestled for the ball, with West ripping the much-smaller Irving around in a circle. A jump ball was eventually called, but that was far from the end of it.

West took exception for Irving going for the ball and added an extra shove or two on Irving. That sure set Thompson and Smith off, to say the least.

Smith started by shoving West at the shoulders, and Thompson came made a beeline for him.

Cooler heads eventually prevailed, but not before Thompson and West went nose-to-nose — literally.

The two pushed their heads together and shouted at each other as teammates tried to split up the mess. They touched faces, and inadvertently locked lips, too.

Thompson, West and Smith all received technical fouls as a result of the first-half altercation. The sequence lit up social media with belief that the two may have accidentally kissed in the tussle.
