Tom Brady was serenaded with “Happy Birthday” by Patriots fans as he walked onto the field before today’s practice (video above). Brady turns 40 today.
Hundreds of Patriots fans, some of who had “Happy Birthday” signs for Brady, sang to the quarterback as he walked onto the field smiling and waving, before starting his practice. Fans also sang “Happy Birthday” to Brady at last year’s training camp.
The Patriots also helped Brady celebrate by bringing in baby goats to their training camp. They also had a giant birthday card for fans to sign.
Brady’s wife Gisele took to Instagram to wish Brady a heartfelt happy birthday. Gisele post a picture of the two together with the following message:
Over 10 years ago I fell in love with you because of your beautiful and sensitive heart. I love the sweetness in your essence. Today you are starting a big new chapter and I wish you so much happiness and fulfillment in all aspects of your life. Happy birthday my love! Making 40 feel like 20!!! You go @tombrady !!!
The city of Boston is planning a birthday bash at Faneuil Hall Marketplace, according to the Boston Herald. The birthday bash is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET. After a “Happy Birthday” singalong there will be a life-size cutout available for photos. Fans will be treated to cake provided by North End Bakery in Quincy Market. Fans wearing Patriots gear will be able to collect discounts from various vendors.
Brady will enter the 2017 season as the NFL’s oldest active non-kicker. He has no plans of retiring soon, telling The MMQB’s Peter King that he’d “like to play until my mid-40’s,” shortly after winning his fifth Super Bowl.
Brady is coming off a dramatic Super Bowl win and posted his highest quarterback rating (112.2) since throwing 50 touchdowns and leading New England to a 16-0 record in 2007.
