McMahon (who was an All-Star in 2024) is in his second season playing for New York.

He spent the first eight and a half seasons of his career playing for the Colorado Rockies.

In six out of his first nine seasons, McMahon has hit 20+ home runs.

The Yankees still owe the 31-year-old $32 million (he will be a free agent after the 2027 season).

He had signed a big deal with Colorado.

ESPN’s Jeff Passan wrote (on March 21, 2022): “Versatile infielder Ryan McMahon and the Colorado Rockies are in agreement on a six-year, $70 million contract extension, sources familiar with deal tell ESPN. McMahon, 27, took a leap forward defensively in 2021 and has enough thunder in his bat for Colorado to commit long-term.”

They are 5-5 in ten games at home.

Following their series with the Royals, the Yankees will visit the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park on April 21.
