Urijah Faber Hosts Q&A Prior to UFC 146 Weigh-ins in Las Vegas

UFC Fight Club event features former featherweight champion

Top UFC bantamweight contender Urijah Faber will have plenty to talk about next week in Las Vegas.

Faber, the former WEC featherweight champion and current coach on “The Ultimate Fighter LIVE” opposite Dominick Cruz, will host a question-and-answer session prior to the weigh-ins for UFC 146 next week. The Q&A session is for members of the UFC Fight Club and takes place at 2 p.m. Pacific. Doors for Fight Club members open at 1 p.m. The Q&A session takes place prior to the official weigh-ins for UFC 146, which are open to the public with doors opening at 3 p.m. and fighters on the scale at 4 p.m.

Faber was expected to rematch Cruz for his bantamweight title at UFC 148 in July. But last week, Cruz tore his ACL and will be on the shelf for an extended period of time. On Friday’s episode of TUF Live, UFC president Dana White will announce Faber’s replacement opponent – whom he will face for the interim bantamweight title in the co-main event on July 7.

Fans can expect Faber to answer questions about his coaching stint on TUF Live, disappointment in not being able to fight Cruz and his thoughts on his new opponent, which will then be known.

Speculation on Faber’s opponent ranges from Renan Barao moving up to face him, leaving Ivan Menjivar in need of an opponent on the same card, to Michael McDonald, who knocked out Miguel Torres at UFC 145 last month. Menjivar and Brad Pickett also have had their names in the mix in recent weeks.
