Machida Leads List Of UFC 113 Injury Suspensions

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida leads the list of injury suspensions from Saturday’s UFC 113 event.

Machida, who was knocked out in the first round by new champion Mauricio “Shogun” Rua, was suspended for sixty days by the Quebec Athletic Commission. Rua was suspended for seven days.

The Quebec Athletic commission hands down mandatory suspensions of seven or fourteen days for each fighter, with longer suspensions for more severe injuries or knockouts. Besides Machida, only Jonathan Goulet received a suspension larger than fourteen days. Goulet was suspended thirty days after being knocked out by Marcus Davis on the preliminary card.
