UFC 117 is now finalized with 11 bouts set for August 7 at the Oracle Arena in Oakland, California. The promotion announced today the entire main and preliminary cards set for the August pay-per-view event.
The card, which will be the first pay-per-view event in over one month for the promotion, is headlined by a middleweight championship bout between top contender Chael Sonnen and the reigning champion Anderson Silva. The co-main event of the evening features a rematch between welterweight contenders Thiago Alves and Jon Fitch, who are both looking to work towards a rematch with 170-pound champion Georges St. Pierre.
Also on the main card of the evening, Roy Nelson and Junior dos Santos will square off in the heavyweight division with the winner likely receiving the next title shot following Cain Velasquez. Rafael dos Anjos vs. Clay Guida and Ricardo Almeida vs. Matt Hughes round out the remainder of the pay-per-view portion of the event.
