Dave “Pee-Wee” Herman signs with the UFC
Heavyweight Dave Herman has been released by Japanese promotion Sengoku and has signed a contract with the UFC.
MMAfighting.com first reported the story.
Herman sought his release from Sengoku Raiden Championship following the cancelation of a planned April event and rumors of financial struggles with the promotion.
Herman has a professional MMA record of 20-2 and is coming off a decision win over Yoshihiro Nakao on Dec. 31.
The veteran fighter is expected to make his UFC debut at UFC 131 on June 11.
