Koch vs. Swanson off UFC on Versus 3
Erik Koch will have to wait until a later date to make his UFC debut.
Following an injury to his expected opponent Cub Swanson, Koch waited on the sidelines to see if a replacement would be found. However, it was not meant to be, as the promotion was unable to find a suitable opponent in time for UFC on Versus 3.
The cancelled fight means that the official event now has seven preliminary fights, along with the four main card contests.
In the March event’s headliner, welterweights Martin Kampmann and Diego Sanchez will do battle, while a middleweight bout between Mark Munoz and C.B. Dollaway will serve as the evening’s co-main event. Rounding out the main card, which will be televised live on Versus, Alessio Sakara will take on Chris Weidman, and former WEC champion Brian Bowles faces off against Damacio Page.
The UFC’s third event to be featured on Versus is set for March 3 in Louisville at the KFC Yum! Center. This will be the first time the promotion has ever held an event in Kentucky.
