McDonald vs. Pace set for UFC 133

A bantamweight tilt between Michael McDonald and Nick Pace is set for UFC 133 this August.

The promotion announced the match up earlier today, revealing that verbal agreements are in place.

McDonald, a one-time WEC veteran, is currently riding a five-fight winning streak, including his most recent victory, a unanimous decision win against Edwin Figueroa at “UFC Fight Night: Nogueira vs. Davis.” He also holds wins over the likes of Cole Escovedo and Manny Tapia.

Pace, meanwhile, is coming off an incredible submission victory, forcing a tap from Will Campuzano at “The Ultimate Fighter: Team GSP vs. Team Koscheck Finale” via what is now called the Pace choke. Prior to that contest, he was defeated by Demetrious Johnson at WEC 51 via unanimous decision.

UFC 133 is still far from complete, but August 6 in Philadelphia is expected to serve as the date and venue. A middleweight tilt between Jorge Rivera and Alessio Sakara is the only other official bout as of this point in time.
