Rivera vs. Sakara official for UFC 133
UFC President Dana White announced the bout earlier today, stating, “Better late than never, verbal agreements are in for what should be an action-packed match between Alessio Sakara and Jorge Rivera at UFC 133.”
The two strikers were originally expected to meet at UFC 122 in Germany, but Sakara pulled out of the contest the day of the event due to illness. Both fighters will enter this bout looking for redemption, as each man lost in his last fight. Sakara was defeated by prospect Chris Weidman at “UFC on Versus 3,” while Rivera was defeated by rival Michael Bisping at UFC 127.
UFC 133 is expected for August 6 in Philadelphia, though the event has yet to be made official by the promotion. Information is expected to be revealed shortly.
