Guillard, Lauzon Verbally Agree To UFC 136 Bout

Guillard, Lauzon meet in Houston

Melvin Guillard wanted a fight with Joe Lauzon and now he has one.

According to the UFC, Guillard and Lauzon will meet at UFC 136 after agreeing to the fight earlier this week.

Lauzon is coming off a dominant submission victory over Curt Warburton at “UFC on Versus 4,” earning the Submission of the Night honors. Prior to that victory, he was defeated by George Sotiropoulos in the Fight of the Night of UFC 123. In his past five outings, Lauzon has walked away with some type of bonus, no doubt due to his ferocious pace and desire to force a stoppage.

But Lauzon is not alone in terms of exciting fights and finishes. His upcoming opponent Guillard has had his fair share of those of late, including his devastating knockout victory over Shane Roller at UFC 132. Just days after the contest, the lightning quick lightweight expressed a large amount of interest in a bout against Lauzon.

UFC 136 is set for Houston, Texas on October 8 and features a main event between lightweight champion Frankie Edgar and Gray Maynard in what will be the final bout of their trilogy.
