Rua vs. Henderson official for November
A light heavyweight bout between Dan Henderson and Mauricio “Shogun” Rua is official for the main event slot of UFC 139.
HeavyMMA.com confirmed the news earlier this week, and today the promotion announced the bout.
Henderson last fought under the Strikeforce banner against fellow legend of the sport Fedor Emelianenko this past July. The Team Quest star continued his devastating streak of knockouts, disposing of Emelianenko via first round technical knockout.
Rua, meanwhile, is on a quest to get his 205 lb. title back and took his first step back after knocking out Forrest Griffin at UFC 134. The victory was his first since losing his title to Jon Jones at UFC 128.
UFC 139 is set for November 19 in San Jose, California and will broadcast live on Pay-Per-View. A middleweight contest between Wanderlei Silva and Strikeforce veteran Cung Le is official for the co-main event.
