Jon Anik, Kenny Florian Get Booth Duties for UFC 143 in 3D

UFC’s ‘B team’ handles special 3D broadcast

When UFC 143 hits theaters in 3D this weekend, the look won’t be the only thing different for those watching. The sound will also be a change from the usual.

Instead of Mike Goldberg and Joe Rogan calling the action for the play-by-play for the 3D broadcast, Jon Anik and UFC fighter Kenny Florian will walk fans through the action. Goldberg-Rogan still make the calls on the standard broadcast.

Anik and Florian make up the UFC’s “B team” for events on FX and Fuel TV, including this month’s UFC on Fuel TV: Ellenberger vs. Sanchez and March’s UFC on FX: Alves vs. Kampmann. Anik joined the UFC when his contract was up at ESPN, where he was the host of “MMA Live.” Florian, not yet retired from fighting, has long been a go-to fill-in analyst for the UFC and WEC, and co-hosts “UFC Tonight” with Todd Harris on Fuel TV.

UFC 143 is coming to a theater near you Saturday in 3D. The event features an interim welterweight title bout between contenders Nick Diaz and Carlos Condit, who both, at one time or another, were scheduled to face current champion Georges St-Pierre. Ticket information can be found at 3d.ufc.com.
