Here's our final thoughts on Raw's WWE Roadblock: End of the Line! Big Cass (with Enzo Amore) vs. Rusev (with Lana) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MVHHtRIQ7C4 Reactions: This pre-show match hardly quantifies as one. All the promo time we got from Lana, Enzo and Cass seemed like it ran longer than the whole bout itself. Cass kicked Rusev's ass for the majority of the match, Rusev escaped through the crowd, got a few strikes in on Cass, jumped on Enzo and then got the win via count out. Let's move on from this quickly, please... Rating: No Stars... The New Day (Big E, Kofi Kingston, and/or Xavier Woods) (c) vs. Cesaro and Sheamus (WWE Raw Tag Team Championship) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zcAisH_UY_M Reactions: From the opening bell, this tag team championship bout started off hot. Cesaro and Sheamus were on a mission tonight and they were looking to see it out to full completion. The New Day responded with just as much tenacity and intensity as their opponents, which helped catapult this bout into an immensely fun encounter. Cesaro and Sheamus worked much better as a well-oiled machine, which gave us some truly creative team maneuvers and smarter ways of cutting off The New Day's usual antics. Kofi and Big E pulled off some slick moves of their own and made our heart skip a few beats since it looked like they were going to retain. The final moments of this opening match must be seen and appreciated in full. The New Day's record breaking run may be over, but at least it came to a close during this awesome rematch. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dAWmm9F-zl8 Rating: 3 & a Half out of 5 Stars Sami Zayn vs. Braun Strowman (Sami Zayn Must Last at Least 10 Minutes) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R_70YF-_nGA Reactions: As a complete match, it was pretty much a squash match with a few bits of comeback offense from the smaller guy trickled in. We enjoyed it just a little bit more than the average David vs. Goliath bout due to its more emotional moments. Foley's involvement with him almost throwing in the towel for Zayn, Strowman's constant berating of Zayn and Zayn throwing said towel into the crowd got us more invested in this bout. Zayn's final offensive sprint tugged at our heartstrings even more and had us rooting even harder for the little guy. Zayn survived! This was more of a heart tugger than an actual back and forth contest. At least it was kinda decent... Rating: 1 & a Half out of 5 Stars Rich Swann (c) vs. T.J. Perkins vs. The Brian Kendrick (Triple Threat Match for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BnPkWKcNQrw Reactions: As far as WWE Cruiserweight matches go, this was par the course for the ones seen on Raw. It was a bit sloppy at points, but overall it turned into a decent title match sprint. Thew few multi-man moments we did get (like that sweet double Superkick that Kendrick ate) managed to wake us up while this match entered its final stages. We wish this one got a little bit more time and involved just a few more cooler multi-man exchanges. We're pretty befuddled by the fact that Perkins broke his own submission hold (he's been made to look like a total tool on more than one occasion). Anyways, Swann retained after a "meh" title match presentation. But Neville's unexpected return and shocking heel turn made the post-match proceedings infinitely more interesting than the match itself. Neville in the Cruiserweight Division took forever to happen, but at least it's finally a thing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ns52sYIeijg Rating: 2 out of 5 Stars Seth Rollins vs. Chris Jericho https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k94RqjpNYC8 Reactions: We've witnessed both of these nimble Superstars face each other on numerous occasions. We weren't exactly chomping at the bit to see it once more, but we also weren't going to write it off so quickly. However in the end, it was just your regular Raw main event between men of such caliber. This was pretty much a Cliff Notes version of everything we've seen from Rollins and Jericho before. This match wasn't terrible by any means, but it ended up just being more of the same that we're used to seeing on Monday nights. Oh and if you're asking, there was definitely Owens interference. Been there, done that. You've already seen this before, which means you don't need to go out of your way to see it here once again. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IR7RZriDUr8 Rating: 2 & a Half out of 5 Stars Sasha Banks (c) vs. Charlotte Flair (30–Minute Iron Man Match for the WWE Raw Women's Championship) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a8K0quArdsY Reactions: As far as 30-minute Iron Man matches go, this one was good. But what sullies it in our eyes is the fact that we've seen them face off so frequently this year. Sure, those matches haven't been horrible by any means but it's hard for us to get invested in yet another rematch. Just like the Rollins/Jericho match, this turned into a Cliff Notes Edition of what both these women have shown us before. Everything we've witnessed from every encounter between Charlotte and Banks was mashed up into this 30-minute encounter. This one was full of focused injured limb offense, grueling submission holds, intense striking exchanges and even some bloodletting. When it entered OT, both women continued tearing into each other and got the crowd more into it. The title switched hands once again, which didn't go over with us since its happened so frequently. Charlotte's champion (again...), but we're finding it hard to care as much. This match was decent enough. It just wasn't different from what you've all seen before, though... Rating: 2 & a Half out of 5 Stars Kevin Owens (c) vs. Roman Reigns (WWE Universal Championship) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sIOMjAWI5KI Reactions: This was exactly what we've seen for the last several months. And to be quite honest, we've grown quite tired or seeing it since it's far beyond the point of stagnation. Owens and Reigns have fought repeatedly in sub-par to decent matches. This one fell into the average category, sadly. It was what you've seen before, only a bit longer. Owens' Frog Splash onto Reigns on the announce table picked up our spirits a little bit, but we soon lost it thereafter once Jericho came out. We then got a swerve that we spotted from a million miles away. This match was devoid of any passion and belonged on your usual edition of Raw. And the ending of this PPV did nothing to satisfy us, honestly... Rating: 2 & a Half out of 5 Stars Match of the Night The New Day vs. Cesaro and Sheamus! Final Verdict WWE Roadblock: End of the Line...well, sucked. We should have figured this show was gonna bomb after watching this show's sad excuse of a pre-show match. Things picked up with the opening bout for the Tag Team Championship, but it tapered off into another boring Raw episode. Every rematch on this event featured nothing particularly different and fresh from the matches that occurred beforehand. Rollins/Jericho, Banks/Charlotte and Owens/Reigns has taken place more times than we can count, which is why it was hard for us to care about seeing these matches once again. Check out The New Day vs. Cesaro and Sheamus and keep it pushing. The rest of WWE Roadblock: End of the Line is nothing to write home about...
