President Donald Trump is predicting the New England Patriots will win the Super Bowl over the Atlanta Falcons by eight points.
He made the pick during a pregame interview with Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly:
Trump has often talked about his friendship with Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, and his respect for New England coach Bill Belichick, who wrote him a letter during the presidential campaign. He also talked about his respect for Patriots owner Robert Kraft.
“I like Bob Kraft, I like Coach Belichick and Tom Brady is my friend,” Trump told O’Reilly, who pointed out that the Patriots star, owner and coach have taken hits for expressing support for the president.
“They’re taking a lot of heat,” Trump said. “But you know what, they’re also getting a lot of popularity out of it. I think they’re going to do very well. Tom’s a winner, the coach is a great coach. I think the other team is fantastic though, but you know, there’s less pressure on the Patriots since they’ve been there. But, you know, you have to stick up for your friends.”
Trump said he hates to make predictions.
“I’ll say the Patriots will win, by 8 points,” Trump said.
