One of the interesting things about Heavy's MLB power rankings is how things change from week to week. Last week, the Milwaukee Brewers soared into our power rankings after stringing together a bundle of wins. The Brewers went on to lose five straight games and find themselves on the outside looking in this week. The NL West continues to impress with three teams sitting near the top of MLB for the most wins in baseball. The Colorado Rockies, Arizona Diamondbacks and Los Angeles Dodgers are not only fighting for the division but are among the best teams in baseball. Both the Chicago Cubs and Boston Red Sox appear to have found their footing again after brief slumps. Both teams find themselves back inside Heavy's power rankings after a lengthy hiatus.
The MLB home run race has picked up excitement with Mike Trout, Aaron Judge and Bryce Harper all jockeying for position. Trout leads MLB heading into the week with 16 homers while Judge and Harper each have 15 home runs. Two Rockies players top the RBI list. Charlie Blackmon leads MLB with 45 RBI while Mark Reynolds is in second with 42. Blackmon also leads MLB in total hits with 69 and is hitting .337. The Dodgers' Justin Turner has the best batting average in baseball at .379. The stats and standings listed in this week's power rankings are as of May 27.
