Texas Longhorns head coach Steve Sarkisian and wife Loreal Sarkisian celebrated an important change this college football offseason. Back in April 2025, the couple announced the birth of their first child together.
Loreal took to Instagram to announce the news, noting that “every little moment has been amazing.”
“He’s arrived, and our hearts are so full of love and gratitude!” Loreal noted in an April 4, Instagram post. “Embracing these first days quietly resting, adjusting, and soaking in every little moment has been amazing!
“Thank you for your love and for respecting this sweet time of privacy 💙.”

Steve Sarkisian & Wife Loreal Sarkisian Previously Announced Joint Plans to File for Divorce in 2024
The new addition to the Sarkisian family is notable news given the couple had announced their plans to file for divorce in July 2024. Both Steve and Loreal posted a statement on social media announcing the joint decision.
“After many heartfelt conversations, we have decided to amicably part ways and jointly file for divorce,” the 2024 statement read, per Sports Illustrated. “We aim to remain the best of friends and are incredibly grateful for the love and support we have shared throughout our journey together.
“Our commitments to our respective careers made it difficult to prioritize time for each other and this step will provide us with the necessary time and space professionally while continuing to support each other personally.”
Loreal Sarkisian Opened Up About the Couple’s Pregnancy Complications
There had been rumors about a rekindled romance after Loreal was spotted at Texas games during the 2024 season. Not only does it appear the couple has patched things up, but Steve and Loreal are celebrating a new addition to the family.
The arrival of the couple’s new son did not come without complications. During a video posted to her YouTube channel, Loreal recently opened up on the difficult pregnancy while celebrating the health of the couple’s new son.
“Unfortunately, I quickly learned that pregnancy was going to look completely different for me,” Loreal said candidly in the August 27, video. “Like clockwork, I started going to my checkups every month, and on what seemed to be a regular checkup like my past checkups, was not a regular checkup for me.
“It actually changed my entire pregnancy journey, and without being really emotional, it sucked. It sucked. I learned of a few complications that were, at that point, putting me on bed rest effective immediately.”
Loreal went on to add that the couple’s new baby is in good health after a complicated pregnancy. The Longhorns first lady is looking to provide hope to other mothers who are in the midst of a challenging pregnancy.
Steve Sarkisian Has 3 Children From a Previous Relationship, Including Son Brady Who Plays for Texas
Steve also has three children from a previous marriage: Brady, Taylor and Ashley. His oldest son Brady is a linebacker for the Longhorns providing Steve with the rare opportunity to coach his son.
“When he got in tonight, I took my headset off and I played dad for about three plays,” Steve noted in a September 14, press conference. “I just watched my son play football at the University of Texas. That was really awesome.”
