February golf is a weather-weary gamble. Sometimes, the pros play through “fake spring” and sunshine. All too often, however, they are battered with rain and high winds as they try to navigate the back nine.
Such is the case at the 2026 Pebble Beach Pro-Am, where inclement weather has literally rained on golfers’ parades. Rory McIlroy, Scottie Scheffler, and the entire Pro-Am contingent already battled heavy ocean wind during practice rounds early in the week. Does that mean there’s also rain on the way?
The Forecast for Rounds 3 & 4 at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am
There isn’t any rain scheduled to pelt the California coast during Friday’s or Saturday’s rounds, according to The Weather Channel. However, there is a 60% chance of rain on Saturday night, and an over 80% chance of rain during the day on Sunday.
Wind is an even bigger issue. Gusts are projected to hit around 10 mph on Friday and Saturday, but could pick up to 20-30 mph during Sunday’s final round. If the wind and rain play a significant enough role, Round 4 could be postponed until Monday.
Or even worse, the final round could be postponed altogether.
History of Bad Weather at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am
Bad weather is an unfortunate element at the 2026 Pebble Beach Pro-Am, but not an unfamiliar one.
Golden Gate Weather Services reports that 28 Pebble Beach Pro-Am events have featured at least one day of rain over the last 49 years. The 89-year-old Pro-Am “has seen rain, snow, sleet, and winds play havoc with the course, the players, and the spectators.”
Round 4 of the 1962 Pebble Beach Pro-Am was postponed “because of a half-inch of snow on Saturday night and sleet on Sunday.” The final round of the 1998 Pro-Am was postponed for over six months due to heavy rainfall, the LA Times reported.
More recently, the final round of the 2024 tournament was canceled altogether due to heavy rain and winds up to 60 mph. Wyndham Clark, then the reigning U.S. Open champion, was declared the winner after finishing atop the leaderboard on Saturday.
Leaderboard and Favorites Ahead of Round 3
Weather aside, the second day of this year’s Pebble Beach Pro-Am really shook up the betting odds for who will win the tournament in 2026.
Keegan Bradley started the day as the favorite at DraftKings after he finished Round 1 tied for second place, one stroke off the leader. He finished just one under par on Friday and dropped to T10, and is now listed at +174 to finish in the top 10 and a whopping +5200 odds to win it all.
Akshay Bhatia and Ryo Hisatsune have emerged as co-leaders after Round 2, each finishing Friday 15 under par. The second-day surge has made Bhatia the betting favorite at +380 odds to win the tournament, while Hisatsune is listed at +570 on the Pebble Beach Pro-Am odds board.
Those odds could be in for another big swing with Sam Burns and Rickie Fowler both sitting just one stroke off the lead. Burns is listed at +540 odds to win the tournament and at -128 odds to finish in the top five. Fowler, who typically skips the Pebble Beach Pro-Am or finishes far down the board, is listed at +485 odds to win and -140 to finish in the top five.
