The Atlanta Braves improved to 16-7 after their win over the Washington Nationals on Monday. It’s a four-game set between the Braves and Nationals. The Braves are the first team in Major League Baseball to 16 wins this season.

On Monday, the Braves also got a bit of an injury scare with their star right fielder, Ronald Acuña Jr. He was removed from the game and is considered day-to-day, per postgame reports:

“Acuna (undisclosed), who was removed from Monday’s game against Washington after being hit by a pitch twice, is being considered day-to-day after X-rays returned negative. Acuna appeared to be in pain after being hit by a pitch on his left hand during the top of the sixth inning, though the team has yet to confirm that he was removed as a result of the hand injury. His status will be worth keeping a close eye on leading up to the second game of the series Tuesday.”

Per Heavy on Sports news notification alert, Acuña Jr. was removed from Monday’s game after being hit in the wrist by a pitch:

“Acuna was hit by a pitch twice before leaving the game. The more concerning HBP took place in the top of the sixth inning, when he was struck on the left hand, though he managed to remain in the game to run the bases after being examined by the club’s medical staff. Acuna will presumably be sent for further tests to determine the severity of his injury.”

Bowman is right, Acuña Jr. was hit in on the fists with a pitch in the sixth innings. He went to baserun, but eventually had to be removed from the game. The Braves won 9-4, so it could really just be a precautionary thing. The X-Rays came back negative, according to Bowman.

On Monday, Ronald Acuña Jr. wrnt 1-for-1 with two HBP’s.

In 22 games this season, Acuna Jr. is hitting .247 with one home run, five RBI, and nine runs scored.

It’s been a slow start for the Braves All-Star outfielder, but Ronald is undoubtedly Atlanta’s spark plug on offense, regardless.

The Braves have been the best team in MLB over the past week. They are winners of their last six games, and have won 10 of their last 12 games since the Angels series.

Atlanta still hasn’t lost a series this season, and they likely won’t with a four-game set against the Nationals. Bryce Elder turned in another solid start, and the Braves’ starting rotation has been a revelation this season.
