Bryce Elder: Everything you need to know

Elder (4-1) allowed a hit and four walks while striking out eight over 5.2 scoreless innings to earn the win over the Dodgers on Sunday. Elder's four walks were a season high, but that was the only negative in this performance. He kept a scoreless line for the third time this season and ended a stretch of three straight no-decisions. The right-hander is now at a 1.81 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 53:20 K:BB across 54.2 innings through nine starts. Elder has walked at least three batters in each of his last three outings, which is something he'll need to keep in check to avoid regression. His next start is projected to be at home versus the Red Sox.

Elder allowed two runs on two hits and three walks while striking out nine over six innings in a no-decision versus Seattle on Tuesday. Elder gave up a two-run home run to J.P. Crawford in the third inning, but that was the extent of the damage. This was another quality start for Elder, who has earned four of them in a row and a total of six in his eight outings this season. He's at a 2.02 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 45:16 K:BB through 49 innings. Elder's had some luck on his side with a .242 BABIP this season, but his 8.3 K/9 this year is a strong mark compared to his career 7.4 K/9, which suggests he's found something that works early in 2026. Elder's next start is projected to be at home versus the Cubs.

Elder did not factor into the decision Thursday against the Tigers, allowing a run on six hits and three walks over six innings. He struck out five. It was another strong showing from Elder, who held Detroit off the board for his first five innings. The right-hander has turned in three straight quality starts, lowering his ERA to a sparkling 1.88 with a 1.05 WHIP and 36:13 K:BB across seven outings (43 innings). Elder will look to keep rolling in his next start, tentatively scheduled for next week on the road in Seattle.
