Swanson was taken out of the game in the second inning.
Taylor McGregor of Marquee Sports Network wrote: “#Cubs Dansby Swanson left the game with a left glute cramp.”
Swanson came into the night batting .206 with six home runs, 21 RBI’s, 23 runs and one stolen base in 29 games.
He is in his fourth year playing for the Cubs.
Meghan Montemurro of The Chicago Tribune wrote: “Dansby Swanson is out of the game in the bottom of the 2nd. Nico Hoerner shifts to SS and Nicky Lopez takes over 2B. Swanson had hit an RBI double in top half of the inning.”

The Cubs came into the night as the second-place team in the National League Central with a 17-12 record in 29 games.
They are coming off a 9-7 loss to the Padres (on Monday).
Swanson finished with two hits and a walk in three at-bats.

The Cubs have one more game against the Padres before heading home to host the Arizona Diamondbacks on Friday at Wrigley Field.
They are 6-7 in 13 games on the road (and 11-5 in 16 games at home).
Last season, the Cubs lost in the NLDS.

On the other side of the series, the Padres are 19-9 in 28 games, which has them as the second-place team in the National League West.
They are 10-4 in the 14 games they have played at home in San Diego.
Following the Cubs, the Padres will remain at home to host the Chicago White Sox on Friday.
