On Monday night, the Chicago Cubs opened up a series with the Milwaukee Brewers at Wrigley Field.

The Cubs won by a score of 17-3.

Alex Bregman finished with three home runs and four RBIs.

Meghan Montemurro of The Chicago Tribune wrote: “Alex Bregman hadn’t recorded a 3-homer game in his baseball career entering this month. Bregman now has two 3-homer games in the last 3 weeks as he takes the Brewers’ Andrew Vaughn deep for his third homer tonight. Cubs lead Brewers 17-3.”

Cubs Manager Makes Bold Bregman Statement

After the game, manager Craig Counsell spoke about Bregman (via Marquee Sports Network).

Reporter: “Looks like Bregman’s going to get to his regular numbers. There was a lot of doubt about that… Maybe from outside noise.”

Counsell: “He is relentless in his preparation and in his daily grind… He just is relentless. So he kind of teaches you that. This is who he is. At some point… He sent a message to me and I was like, I get it now. This is how it works, and this is how he does it. And it’s impressive.”
