Pete Crow-Armstrong emerged as one of the better outfielders in MLB last season, and baseball fans across the country started to learn about his charismatic personality. Chicago Cubs fans know it best, but with “PCA” ‘s play on the field, it’s hard to deny he’s set to be a big part of MLB’s future.
As many Chicago athletes do, Pete Crow-Armstrong has really attached himself to the Chicago sports scene and the Windy City fans. Recently, PCA did not mince words when comparing Cubs fans to the back-to-back World Series Champion Los Angeles Dodgers fanbase.

Pete Crow-Armstrong Believes Dodgers Have Vanilla Fan Base
In an exclusive interview with Chicago-based journalist Wayne Drehs, PCA has kind? words for Cubs fans, and then takes a jab at Dodgers fans for their lackluster interest in the team:
“I love Chicago more and more,” Crow-Armstrong says. “It’s just an incredible city. The people are great. They give a sh**. They aren’t just baseball fans who go to the game like Dodgers fans to take pictures and whatever. They are paying attention. They care.”
What makes this comment so interesting is the fact PCA is from Los Angeles, as he attended Harvard-Westlake High School, which is in Sherman Oaks, CA.
Crow-Armstrong also details how, in the first half of the 2025 season, he was shocked about how alive Wrigley Field was when he would come up to bat:

Geoff Stellfox/Getty ImagesCubs outfielder Pete Crow-Armstrong delivered a huge hit in their season-saving win Wednesday.
“It would be a random day in June, not even a big situation that calls for it, and I’m getting ‘PCA! PCA! PCA!’ I’m like, Fu**, I’ve got to do something. And I’m telling you, every time that happened, I probably struck out or something.”
Perhaps the way Cubs fans have embraced PCA is the reason he thinks this strongly of the fanbase, but he may have an argument for Dodgers fans being a bit vanilla, but Dodger Stadium has become a league attraction for its fun and energetic displays and fan nights. Wrigley Field is one of the most iconic venues in MLB, but it’s more known for, well as PCA highlights, a very tapped-in and dedicated fan base.

Pete Crow-Armstrong’s Time with the Cubs
Before anyone even really knew who PCA was, he was traded from the New York Mets to the Chicago Cubs.
He’s now entering his fourth season in MLB, and is fresh off a campaign where he played 157 games as the Cubs’ primary center fielder, and hit 31 home runs, stole 35 bases, and posted an OPS+ of 117, putting him in line to likely earn a lucrative contract extension in the coming years.
Chicago is poised to be a top NL contender in 2026 with the additions of Alex Bregman and Edward Cabrera, and it’s interesting to think about how much of the Cubs’ expectations and how much they will compare to the Dodgers this season influenced his comments about the Los Angeles faithful.
