He wrote: “New rule proposal, if the manager chooses to intentionally walk someone, those runs shouldn’t count against a pitchers ERA. 🤷‍♂️”

MLB Fans React To Turner’s Proposal

Here’s what people were saying in response to Turner’s post:

@DodgersAndrew: “Interesting. I could get behind this”

@jeffbatesx: “Totally agree!!!”

@CleavelandOHIO: “And if a batter drives in a player who was intentionally walked he shouldn’t get credit for an RBI.”

@eriklmarum: “And make intentional walks a double, not single. We want to pitchers actually pitch to all batters. That’s where the excitement is for fans and where the incentive should be for the defense. To get the batter out.”

@ShaneMLantz: “Even newer rule proposal: ban the intentional walk.”

@TLaVoie14: “Counter point, they should count twice as much”

@J_Colavita12: “If you do this, then you have to count any runs that score due to a pitcher error against their ERA”
