Mets Player Still Owed A Lot Of Money

Lindor is one of the most notable players on the Mets.
That said, the five-time MLB All-Star has had a tough start to the season, batting .167 with no home runs and no RBI’s (in addition to 13 strikeouts).
He has also struggled as a fielder.
It’s worth noting that the Mets still owe Lindor over $200 million.
Jeff Schudel of The News-Herald wrote (on April 1, 2021): “Good morning to you, and it is a good morning for Francisco Lindor. He signed a 10-year $341 million contract with the #Mets while most of us were sleeping. It is the biggest contract ever for a shortstop.”

Lindor’s MLB Career
Lindor was the eighth pick in the 2011 MLB Draft.
He spent the first six years of his career playing for the Cleveland Guardians.
In that span, Lindor made four All-Star Games (and helped the franchise reach the 2016 World Series).

Lindor was then traded to the Mets before the 2021 season.
He is in his sixth year playing for New York.
Last season, the 32-year-old made the All-Star Game, batting .267 with 31 home runs, 86 RBI’s, 117 runs and 31 stolen bases.
Abbey Mastracco of The New York Daily News wrote (on Saturday): “The Mets and Francisco Lindor are both puzzled by the mental mistakes and the defensive miscues. Carlos Mendoza said, “it’s weird.” Lindor said he’s locked in, and doesn’t have a reason. He also didn’t make excuses though.”

The Mets will have one more game against the Athletics (on Sunday) before they head to Los Angeles for a series with the Dodgers.
They are currently 7-8 in their first 15 games, which has them as the fourth-place team in the National League East.
Last season, the Mets missed the 2025 MLB playoffs.
