On Friday, the New York Yankees won their second game of the 2026 season when they beat the San Francisco Giants by a score of 3-0 (in California).

They will go for the sweep on Saturday.

Yankees Sign 5-Year MLB Player To Minor League Deal

On Friday, Jorge Castillo of ESPN reported that the Yankees had signed a new player to a minor league deal.

Castillo wrote: “The Yankees have signed right-hander Luis Garcia to a two-year minor-league deal, a source tells ESPN. Garcia is rehabbing after undergoing his second Tommy John surgery in October. His base salary for 2027 would be $2.25MM with another $750K in possible performance bonuses.”

Garcia has spent all five seasons of his MLB career with the Houston Astros.

The 2022 World Series Champion has a 29-19 record with a 3.60 ERA in 71 career games (65 starts).
