That said, the former MVP is still a serviceable player for the Yankees who is coming off a season where he batted .274 with ten home runs and 45 RBI’s in 146 games.
Ryan Garcia of Empire Sports Media wrote: “Paul Goldschmidt is an excellent bench piece to have. Doesn’t complain about playing time, the underlying data is still strong, and he’s a good defender at his position still. Depth we usually do not have on offense.”
Goldschmidt’s MLB Career
Goldschmidt was picked in the eighth round of the 2009 MLB Draft.
He spent the first eight years of his career with the Arizona Diamondbacks, making six straight All-Star Games (2013-18).
With the Diamondbacks, Goldschmidt batted .297 over 1,092 games.
Following the Diamondbacks, Goldschmidt spent six years with the St. Louis Cardinals.
He made one more All-Star Game (and won the 2022 MVP Award).
The potential Hall of Famer is missing a World Series Championship (which could be possible with the Yankees).
