The Toronto Blue Jays made one of the most magical playoff runs in recent memory in 2025, making it all the way to extra innings in game seven of the World Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Typically, when a team is having success at the MLB level the way Toronto is, their prospect ranking takes a hit; it’s the natural ebb and flow of professional sports. But this Blue Jays team isn’t following the typical path.

The Blue Jays prospect ranking didn’t get worse, it actually rose five spots as we head into the 2026 season. Toronto sat at No. 20 during MLB.com’s midseason rankings in 2025, and have risen to No. 15 as of March 5.

Toronto has three prospects in the MLB’s top 100: pitcher Trey Yesavage at No. 12, shortstop JoJo Parker at No. 45, and shortstop Arjun Nimmala at No. 77.

Blue Jays Rise in MLB Prospect Rankings

Yesavage still being listed as a prospect despite his MLB debut coming last season certainly helps the Blue Jays cause, but the rest of their system has proven strong despite that fact.

We’ll start with Yesavage, who will likely be in Toronto’s starting rotation come opening day. Yesavage is the No. 3 pitching prospect in the MLB’s top 100, behind only the Mets’ Nolan McLean, and the Pirates‘ Bubba Chandler. All three are at the MLB level, meaning none of them will be ranked as prospects come mid-season.

Underneath Yesavage, Parker has one of the most complete prospect profiles in this class. All five tools are ranked 50 or higher on the MLB’s 20-80 ranking scale. He doesn’t necessarily excel at anything, but he’s very good at everything. At just 19-years-old, he’s only played in rookie ball, but will look to climb the system quickly this season.

Nimmala is up in high-A, and his power and his arm are both ranked at 60, above-average. At 20-years-old, Nimmala is a little bit closer to the MLB than Parker, but both will likely need at least another year or two before they’re ready to make an impact in Toronto.

Their youth however, should keep Toronto’s prospect pool ranked high for the foreseeable future.

Other Prospects Filling Out Blue Jays System

18-year-old third baseman Juan Sanchez is one of Toronto’s most exciting prospects. Sanchez showcased plus-power in the Dominican Summer League last year, and will look to make an impact in North America this season. He has a great arm at third base, which will be one of the tools the Blue Jays will look to utilize in the future.

Pitchers Ricky Tiedemann and Jake Bloss are No. 5 and No. 8 in the system, respectively, and both are expected to make an impact at the MLB level this season. At 23 and 24-years-old, the infusion of young arms with an already strong rotation and bullpen could be massive for the Blue Jays’ depth at the MLB level this season.

Pitchers Johnny King and Gage Stanifer and outfielders RJ Schreck and Yohendrick Pinango fill out the rest of the Blue Jays top 10 prospects.
