The Blue Jays are being predicted to sign Tommy Pham

The Toronto Blue Jays are undoubtedly a team to watch incredibly closely during the 2026 season. After losing Game 7 of the World Series to the Los Angeles Dodgers in a heartbreaking fashion, the Blue Jays will be looking for redemption and to win it all in 2026.

The Blue Jays responded to their brutal end of the postseason by having a pretty active offseason. Toronto made several moves during the winter, and their biggest was signing star pitcher Dylan Cease to a seven-year contract in free agency. They also added multiple other new players to their roster, like Kazuma Okamoto, Tyler Rogers, Cody Ponce, Jesus Sanchez, and Chase Lee. They also re-signed Max Scherzer to a one-year deal, but also star infielder Bo Bichette to the New York Mets in free agency.

With this, the Blue Jays have certainly made some changes to their roster this offseason, but still look like legitimate contenders. However, as active as the Blue Jays were this offseason, one could argue that they should not be done adding to their roster yet. Because of this, they are now being connected to one of the most notable free agents still available on the market.

Blue Jays Predicted to Sign Veteran Outfielder Tommy Pham in Free Agency

In a recent article for FanSided, Chris Landers discussed a handful of the top free agents left and predicted where they could end up signing. Veteran outfielder Tommy Pham was among the players mentioned, and Landers predicted that the Blue Jays would end up being the team that lands him.

“Toronto’s outfield is looking awfully left-handed overall right now, from Sanchez to Daulton Varsho to Addison Barger to Nathan Lukes. Myles Straw is a fine defender in center, and 36-year-old George Springer can still make it work in a pinch, but the Jays could use another bat who could serve as the short side of a platoon. Pham fits that role to a tee,” Landers wrote.

When looking at the Blue Jays’ roster, it is fair to argue that they could use a player like Pham. If they signed him, he would give them another solid outfielder to work with and simply provide them with more depth. His experience adds to his appeal, as he would have the potential to be a good mentor for the team’s younger players as well.

Pham played in 120 games this past season with the Pittsburgh Pirates, where he had 10 home runs, 52 RBIs, 17 doubles, and a .245 batting average. Overall, the 12-year veteran is still pretty solid at the plate when playing at his best, so he could be a nice depth addition for the Blue Jays.

Teams Looking for More Depth Should Target Pham

With Pham being a solid veteran outfielder with a lot of experience, it is certainly possible that he could have multiple suitors besides the Blue Jays. Teams are always on the hunt for more depth, and he is one of the best outfield options still available for the taking. With this, the Blue Jays could have some competition if they pursue him.

Nevertheless, it will be interesting to see if the Blue Jays end up being the team that lands Pham from here.
